Two Award-Winning Organizations Dedicated to Improving Brain Health Announce Partnership

Palo Alto, CA– May 11, 2020— SyncThink, a world leader in neurotechnology and brain health analytics and creators of EYE-SYNC technology, and TeachAids, a nonprofit social enterprise behind the CrashCourse concussion education technology, join forces. This partnership is a perfect complement, bringing together much needed concussion prevention education with a renowned assessment tool in Virtual Reality.

CrashCourse is an interactive educational module that teaches athletes, parents and coaches about concussions. It includes the most up-to-date scientific knowledge and helps to dispel myths and misconceptions about the concussion recovery process. This, alongside EYE-SYNC, which allows a clinician to utilize objective analysis to decipher between brain systems to determine whether a patient may be performing poorly or impaired, will create a complete brain health education and evaluation system.

“There is great synergy between our two organizations. This partnership offers the latest concussion education and combines it with mobile, objective measurement technology,” said Founder of TeachAids, Piya Sorcar, PhD.

5-time MLS All-Star, ESPN Soccer Analyst and SyncThink advisor Taylor Twellman thinks the partnership is a promising development for youth sports stating, “Since joining SyncThink I’ve seen the team partner with outstanding organizations and continue to create game changing innovations. I’ve watched them work to make sports safer and I’m excited to see that they’ve chosen the CrashCourse concussion educational platform to add to their offerings. I look forward to seeing what a difference these two companies can make together.”

This implementation will be available to all SyncThink partners which include top athletic organizations and clinical partners providing medical care and education for over 10,000 high school and college athletes. Future functionality may also allow for a CrashCourse certification process within the SyncThink User Management Portal. This implementation would make tracking those who receive concussion education easier while complying with sport governing bodies educational requirements.

“Using the SyncThink platform to feature the CrashCourse educational technology for athletes and coaches is brilliant,” SyncThink Founder and Medical Advisor to TeachAids, Jamshid Ghajar MD, PhD stated. “Now clinicians can use the EYE-SYNC tests and metrics alongside CrashCourse’s latest evidence-based information on concussion.”

Currently, EYE-SYNC provides a battery of eye tracking assessments, as well as numerous clinical workflow enhancers, making it possible for the clinician to capture objective data in a shorter period of time. CrashCourse will also be made available through this interface, allowing clinicians to provide critical and timely educational information to their patients and partners in the community.
